Forget about the early press releases that claimed a DVD would be bundled with this CD. Forget the illogic of releasing a compilation after three albums. Also, you might as well forget that Kevin Cadogan was ever in the band, since his name and image are conspicuous by their absence within the packaging. That said, A Collection isn't that bad a compilation. Virtually all of Third Eye Blind's hit songs are on it (albeit presented in their album-length versions), with a few album tracks, "rareties," and new liner notes by James Hunter and Stephan Jenkins on the side providing a bone to fans.

While die-hard fans (myself included) have probably tracked down the songs on various CDs, "Tattoo of the Sun," "My Time in Exile," and the original studio version of "Slow Motion" (that was hacked down to an instrumental for the domestic release of Blue) are nice additions, although there are a number of other rare B-sides and non-album cuts (such as "Horror Show" or "New Girl") that could have been added as well.
