Overview

County Route 22 is a single-lane road in eastern Mercer County, intersecting with CR 9 at Chestnut Knob. This is the only numbered highway entirely in Mercer County that leads to the New River.

History

CR 22 was commissioned in 1933, and routed upon pre-existing infrastructure from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Its course has been unchanged since its inception.
